Goks or Gokul… whatever you call him. Me and Goks became friends almost 5 years ago. That was the time when i was just into my degree life. Even Goks was in his process of getting into an engineering college.

That was the time when there was trouble with CET and COMED-K (ya that problem’s been there even today!). And due to that, Gokul’s admissions were getting delayed. That was the time when he got into a Kannada Movie Forum. Even i was a member of the same forum. We both were the very first 100 members of that forum.

During interactions, we exchanged our emails, started mailing, called each other and became phone friends. We became so close that after every movie watching, we used to call each other. And every week we made it a point to speak for about 40 mins to 2 hours. Goks had a land line phone and he used to call to my land line in the beginning. Then he had a mobile already. But i dint have my cell.

Time proceeded… and i had a cell. The first message on my cell phone was from goks. I wish to reproduce that SMS here:

It was republic day time of 2004 (i guess!). And then i had a BSNL number. Things changed so much… Goks changed his network from Airtel to Spice later. I changed from BSNL to Spice. That was when we had a blast. Spice to Spice 10 paisa calls. We were always chatting in evenings.

The first few movies which came when we became friends was Apthamithra, Joke falls etc. Then we both became friends with Anil MPG. Even Anil was an active film watcher (those days ) and then we three decided to come out with our own website – forum for kannada films. And then came out the idea of GandhadaGudi.com .. The site was started in around 2004 and still running.

Today i define Gokul as one movie buff who watches anything from Kannada, tamil, Telugu, Hindi to English movies. I think he loves music. A software engineer presently working at Noida. He loves Bangalore and misses his city these days.
